Truman Sinclair is an indie folk singer-songwriter known for spare, aching songs built almost entirely around his voice. He came up in Chicago's emo scene at just 8 years old, moved to LA at 14, fronts the emo band Frat Mouse, and released his debut solo album American Recordings in 2025, followed by the EP Rivers of Sugar and Blood.
From Chicago emo kid to folk songwriter
Sinclair got his start earlier than most: he was 8 and playing in Chicago's emo scene. By 14 he had landed in LA, where folk and songwriting took over. He went on to build a cult following fronting Frat Mouse, and he still runs with Fat, Evil Children, a project shared with some of his closest friends.
