KatzPascale are Sammi Katzmann on sax and Jenna Pascale on cello, two classically trained New Yorkers whose last names click together into one word. They build everything they do live, cello and sax running through loop pedals, and the artist they name as their biggest influence is Brian Eno. As of last week, they are on a track with him.
Here is how that happened. Fred again and LATIN MAFIA locked themselves in a Mexico City studio and livestreamed a mixtape until it was done: three days, no fixed end, then a surprise show at Palacio de los Deportes. Ten hours in, Fred pulled up "C'mon," a song he made with Brian Eno, and built a new edit of it with LATIN MAFIA and KatzPascale on the track.
So the loop-pedal duo whose whole approach traces back to Eno ended up on an Eno song, live, in front of everyone watching. Full circle moment.
