Fontaines D.C. are back, and they brought new music with them. This weekend at Baluarte de la Candelaria in Cádiz, Spain, their first full headline show in nearly a year, the band debuted two unreleased songs: "Marianne" in the main set and "Six Shot Morning" in the encore.

Fan footage puts the two in different worlds. "Marianne" leans industrial, drawing early Depeche Mode comparisons, while "Six Shot Morning" is ominous and synth-driven, built on a pulsing bassline. Both point somewhere darker and more electronic than the Romance era the band has been touring since 2024.
The Cádiz stand carried weight beyond the new material. It was the band's first headline show since the passing of their longtime manager Trevor Dietz this summer, and it came days after they recorded the final live session at BBC's Maida Vale Studios, where they played "Roy's Tune" for the first time since 2024. Guitarist Carlos O'Connell had hinted at this back in an NME interview earlier this year, saying live shows are "a good way to test the songs."
The band spent the quiet months anything but quiet, contributing to the Peaky Blinders soundtrack and War Child's HELP(2) compilation, one of our picks for the best albums of 2026 so far. From here the run continues through European dates this month before they headline Reading & Leeds.
